Bagara Rice with Dum Aloo

Bagara rice:


  1. Sugar Watchers Low GI Rice
  2. 1 tbsp ghee 
  3. 2/3 bay leaves
  4. 2 cloves & cardamom
  5. 1 Star anise
  6. 1 dagad phool(black flower)
  7. Curry leaves
  8. Onions
  9. 5 green chillies(as per 1 glass rice) 
  10. Salt 
  11. Water for boiling rice 


  1. Add ghee thn add whole spices add green chillies, onions & curry leaves fry them all
  2. Then add 1 and hlf glss water for 1 glass rice 
  3. Then add salt coriander powder and coriander leaves.
  4. Let the water boil then add soaked rice and let it boil and it's ready to serve

Dum Aloo:

  1. 8-10 baby potatoes (Use Sweet Potatoes or pumpkin for a healthier alternative)
  2. 1 Onion
  3. 2 Tomatoes
  4. Curry leaves
  5. Salt
  6. Red chilli powder
  7. Ginger Garlic paste
  8. Coriander powder
  9. Dry Coconut powder
  10. Coriander leaves


  1. Boil the potatoes and keep ready
  2. Then take a pan add oil mustard seeds(rai), Cumin seeds (jeera) add chopped onions and curry leaves saute 2mins
  3. Then add tomatoes and let it fry till soft
  4. Then add boiled potatoes fry 1min
  5. Then add red chilli powder - 1 ½  tbsp, salt as per taste
  6. Then add dry coconut powder, coriander powder and mix well
  7. Add half glass water to make gravy boil, wait till it thickens then add coriander leaves and it's done (do not boil the curry for more time because it thickens even after the gas is turned off)
